The effectiveness of POCSO E-Box and implication of the POCSO Act, on the school environment, school related guidelines of DCPCR on child protection and challenges pertaining to implementation of CBSE – POCSO and self-defence circulars were part of talks and the open discussion held. Besides, implementation challenges pertaining to the feasibility and scale-ability of Project CACA – Children Against Child Abuse were also discussed. There was a consensus that the CACA Safety Workbook Series would definitely require behaviour changes of teachers and parents, to be specific, and society at large. It would require a paradigm shift in the existing school mechanism of Authority, Accountability and Competition to Responsibility,Trust and Collaboration.
The nukkad natak performed by the children of Saksham NGO was an eye-opener for the participants and showed why behaviour change is the need of the hour.
